El Paso is the sixth largest city in Texas and is disposed right on the border with Mexico, opposite the Mexican city of Ciudad Juarez, forming together with it a transnational metropolitan called El Paso Juarez Borderplex, with a population exceeding 3 million people and divided by the River Rio -Grande.
It is the largest bilingual area in the Western Hemisphere, where 40% of the population speaks Spanish.
El Paso, surrounded by the Chihuahua desert, is located at the intersection of three states, Texas, New Mexico, and Chihuahua, as well as between the two countries, the US and Mexico. The steep mountain of Northern Franklin with the peak of 2192 m is the highest peak of the capital El Paso region, which can be seen from a distance of 100 km from all directions.
In El Paso, you can visit the largest city park in the United States, stretching on the territory of 9,700 hectares and offering incomparably beautiful views and atmosphere for a relaxing holiday.

In order to begin the journey through El Paso, it is worth visiting the Museum of Archeology, placed in a desert area, which exhibits many pre-Columbian artifacts and things of people living in this area. There are open passages that illustrate the flora and fauna of the region and an interesting survey of geology. Not far from here is the National Museum of the Frontier Patrol, which is dedicated to the work of the border police. Here are collected various confiscated items and cars, original videos and a variety of evidence of smuggling in the United States.

Among the interesting places of El Paso should be noted the Art Museum, disposed in the city center, where you can find a large collection of works, divided into 5 sections. Among them, a special section is devoted to European art, the works of Canaletto and Van Dyck, also the works of Goya, Cezanne and Picasso.

When sightseeing, do not miss out on the Ysleta Mission church, built in 1680 in the Mexican style, which is recognized as the oldest church in Texas. Its facade is decorated with stained glass, and the interior is represented by Roman columns, frescoes and bas-reliefs on biblical subjects.

If there is a convenient means of transportation, in which many travelers use cars for rent, you can go to the opening of the State Historical Reserve, which occupies 348 hectares of mountainous terrain to the east of the city. Here you can see huge blocks of volcanic rock, which are well equipped for rock climbing, also thousands of pictograms dated back to 5000 years ago, hundreds of rock paintings made by local people who inhabited this area until the fourteenth century.
